Orange is the New Black or #OITNB released a date for the start of season 5. And Danielle Brooks released a dollop of news about the new season.
First, the season of Orange is the New Black will be released on Netflix on June 9.
At the end of season 4, the prison was at a near riot stage because of Poussey’s death.
In an interview with E News recently, Danielle Brooks revealed that all of season 5 will take place in 3 days. Brooks revealed,
You will watch 13 episodes, and find out what happens in the course of three days. So, it will be very detailed, very intense, and you better get ready. Get your popcorn, your tissues, everything.
So many crucial issues were raised in season 4 of OITNB. They came to a head in the last moments. I assume the 3 days we will see pass in season 5 will be the 3 days immediately following on the last tense seconds of season 4.
On a different note, we just found out the other day that season 5 of Orphan Black begins on BBC America on June 10. We will have to take time out from binge watching OITNB to squeeze in the first episode of Orphan Black. At least Orphan Black is released weekly, preventing total TV overload trying to watch both at once.
