Watch This: Some Previews of Stitchers

Emma Ishta in Stitchers

ABC Family starts a new show called Stitchers on June 2. It’s billed as a police procedural and crime drama, but it sounds like iZombie with live people. Emma Ishta is the character Kirsten. She’s the one with the special abilities.

I’m sure once it gets going the connection to the brains of dead people won’t feel so much like iZombie. I’m not going to complain about a new TV series with a female main character before I’ve even seen it, so hurrah for the brains of dead people.

Here’s the plot description:

A young woman is recruited into a secret government agency to be “stitched” into the minds of the recently deceased, using their memories to investigate murders.

Also featured are Allison Scagliotti and Salli Richardson-Whitfield both of whom I have enjoyed in sci-fi dramas before.

Kyle Harris is in the main cast as a neuroscientist. Ritesh Rajan plays a bioelectrical engineer, computer hacker Scagliotti is Kirsten’s roommate Camille, Damon Dayoub is a detective, and Salli Richardson-Whitfield is the head of the secret government program.

I think I’m already fond of Camille, the hacker. Judging from the previews below she’s a bit of a smart ass, and I love geeky female characters on principle.

Here are a few previews and snippets.

I’m going to give it a try on June 2. What about you? Does it look good?
