A Man on the Inside review: Ted Danson finds another hit comedy to lead
A Man on the Inside stars Ted Danson, who has picked yet another excellent comedy role to keep us glued to our screens in half hour increments. The setup is perfect for many more seasons. I’ll be shocked if the series isn’t renewed very soon.

Inspector Ellis (simply called Ellis in the UK) is a detective series. Sharon D. Clarke stars as a detective “with the mind of a jaguar” who is dispatched to rural locations to take over cases that aren’t going well under local control.

Widow Clicquot review: a woman succeeds in a man’s world
Widow Clicquot tells the story of Barbe Nicole Clicquot, the woman who defied the patriarchy in the early 1800s to engineer the success of the Veuve Clicquot champagne family after her husband’s death. Haley Bennett starred as the widow.

Profile review: a computer screen thriller
Profile is a suspenseful story about a London reporter who went undercover to pretend to be a convert to Islam. She wanted terrorists to engage her online and try to recruit her and bring her to Syria. They did! The film is based on a true story.

Twisters review: buckle up for the ride
Twisters is a decent action thriller about tornado chasers. It’s nail biting fun with lots of menacing special effects as long as you aren’t too nitpicky about the details. Willing suspension of disbelief helps you just enjoy the thrills and have a good time.

Martha was a well-done documentary about the long and varied life of “the original influencer” Martha Stewart.

Emilia Pérez review: beautiful, fascinating, dangerous
Emilia Pérez is surprising and different. It’s a musical with color saturated visuals. It’s a story about Mexican drug cartels and dirty money. It’s a story about being who you are and what that can cost. It’s a story about redemption. There are some spoilers ahead.
