I finally got around to seeing The Wife, months after everyone else. After I saw it I was not entirely happy that I had.
Destroyer is not an easy film to watch. Detective Erin Bell (Nicole Kidman) is not an easy woman to like. She’s a broken woman trying with her last ounce of energy to make right the mistakes of her past.
Band Aid sticks to you with comedy, music, fighting, and making up. It’s all in the service of dealing with grief and pain. The film is funny and surprising and ultimately heartwarming.
Unicorn Store bursts with a magical fantasy about finding yourself and growing up. It’s a work of visual art from start to finish. Brie Larson directed and stars in this fanciful tale of wonder.

Chavela is an inspiring documentary about the life of the famous Costa Rican-born Mexican singer Chavela Vargas. She died in 2012 at the age of 93 after a tempestuous, rebellious, lifetime filled with songs, love, and loneliness.
All About Nina is about a stand up comic who gets her big chance and meets people who urge her to face her truth all at the same time. The results are a trainwreck. There are minor spoilers ahead.
