The Hollywood Reporter revealed two big news flashes about Ryan Murphy’s latest project Pose, which will air on FX, if it goes to series. Rebeccapurple + Spirit Day

I’ve always used purple on my blog in honor of Eric Meyers’ daughter Rebecca, who died at age 6. Nobody knew that but me, but I’m aware of it each time I open my blog.

But today, the color purple represents Spirit Day, a day GLAAD created to show support for LGBTQ youth. On this day, I want to share my love and respect for LGBTQ youth. Nobody deserves to be bullied.

New Research: Seniors on the Small Screen

A new report from the Media, Diversity, & Social Change Initiative underscores just how lacking U.S. television is in faces over the age of 60. Titled “Seniors on the Small Screen,” the study was “comprised of two samples of popular television series airing between June 1, 2016 and May 31, 2017. Popularity was determined based on Nielsen Average Audience Rating Percentage. The first sample includes the 50 most popular television series among viewers age 18-49. The second sample includes the 50 most popular television series among viewers age 65 and older.” Continue reading “New Research: Seniors on the Small Screen”

Just Thinkin’ Here

Three shows I love premier this weekend with new seasons. In the past, I’ve written recaps of Orphan Black. I’ve written several series level posts about each season of Orange is the New Black, but no recaps. In season 1 of Wynonna Earp I only commented (very wrongly) about what I thought was going on in the first episode.

I’m thinking I want to continue in the same way with Orphan Black and Orange is the New Black. I’m also thinking I want to write more about Wynonna Earp but I don’t want to do recaps.

What that means in terms of Wynonna Earp isn’t clear to me yet.

Do you as readers have any input on these plans for the next few weeks of my blogging efforts?

A #HappyValleyTV hashtag Would be Welcome: What do you Think?

I use the hashtag #HappyValley on Twitter to see what people are saying about Happy Valley, the master work from Sally Wainwright.

Every time I do, the Twitter timeline is full of conversation about real places called Happy Valley. You have to sift through all that to find tweets about the TV show Happy Valley.

Why don’t we all agree to change the hashtag? #HappyValleyTV would work, wouldn’t it? Only two more characters, yet distinct from the tweets about actual places. We just have to publicize the idea enough that all the Happy Valley fans pick up on it.

Do you like the idea? Will you help spread the word if you do?
