Eenie Meanie tells the story of Edie Meaney (Samara Weaving). She’s been trained as a getaway driver since well before her 16th birthday. She makes male drivers look like amateurs. She wants out of the job but her former boss Nico (Andy Garcia) doesn’t want to lose her skills.

Eenie Meanie is a far-fetched heist flick. But it does have Samara Weaving behind the wheel for some wild*ss car chase scenes. If car chase scenes or Samara Weaving make your day, then you’ll enjoy the movie. Otherwise it’s just another heist story.

Edie has been going straight. She’s working in a bank. She’s going to college. But she’s tied up with John (Karl Glusman), a person she’s been connected to in many ways ever since her days in foster care. She loves him even though their relationship is doomed.

When John is in trouble (he’s always in trouble) she rescues him one more time. They end up at Nico’s (Andy Garcia) place. Nico has a way to force Edie to drive for him one last time. They will steal a car with $3M in the trunk from a poker convention and deliver the goods to Nico.

Steve Zahn plays Edie’s disappointment of a father. Her best friend is played by
Kyanna Simone. Mike O’Malley shows up as George, Nico’s right hand man and bodyguard. Perm (Marshawn Lynch) is another driver who wants that $3M for himself. Perm is a good driver, but he cheats by bringing a gun.

After all the car chases and getaways, the questions become who will survive and who will finally be set free. The women power theme does sustain the film to the very end. I liked that part of it very much.
