Nikki & Nora: Sister Sleuths is a Hallmark Mystery movie about fraternal twins who have been estranged for 10 years. They meet again and find themselves working together to solve a murder.
Nikki & Nora: Sister Sleuths stars Hunter King as Nikki. Nikki is a starving artist, actually an aspiring actress with a few minor credits but no current work. She returned to her hometown of Chicago two months ago but hasn’t yet told her twin sister Nora that she’s around.
Nora (Rhiannon Fish) is a defense attorney who overlooks potential corruption she sees in her boss and clashes with the cop Det. Sanchez (David Attar) every time she sees him.
Nikki goes to see Nora when a lawyer approaches her with the news that a man she never heard of has left Nikki and Nora his detective agency. (Nick and Nora and a surprise detective agency, cute, right?)
The lawyer tells Nikki he can sell it all for her. Since she has an eviction notice on her apartment door that sounds like a great idea. But she needs Nora’s signature to get the cash.

Nikki goes to find Nora with her story. Nora greets her reluctantly and with hurt in her eyes. Nora is also dealing with the death of her boss. Her nemesis Det. Sanchez thinks it was suicide. Nora thinks it was murder.
Nora is friends with an officer named Robby (Madison Smith) who works under Det. Sanchez. Robby wears his bulletproof vest about 90% of the time, even at home. That doesn’t look comfortable to me. He helps her with the investigation.
Whew, it took 5 paragraphs to explain how this story started. But now it’s going strong.
Nora and Nikki end up in the same places at the same time and discover they have a natural talent for crime solving together as they try to find proof that Nora’s boss was actually murdered.
They go to their inherited detective agency and find photos of the mysterious man who left it to them. He is posed with their parents. But they find no explanation as to why it is now theirs.
As the sisters get reacquainted and remember their childhood and connections, they also do some not entirely legal sleuthing in search of answers to the murder. By the time the case is solved, Nikki and Nora claim the detective agency they already own as theirs. They slap “Nikki and Nora, private detectives” on the door with Scotch tape.
This movie feels the first in a series about these investigative sisters. I don’t see anything to indicate if more will follow, but I know the Hallmark Mystery Series shows are very popular. The scene is set and ready to go. If more movies or a series follow, perhaps we’ll learn why some person they didn’t even know left them his detective agency.
In addition to the Hallmark Channel, you can see Nikki & Nora: Sister Sleuths on Prime Video.
