Robots is a ridiculously stupid comedy. I know there are folks who love ridiculously stupid comedies. Robots is aimed right at that demographic.
Robots was shot in New Mexico. Since New Mexico is where I lived for most of my life, I really enjoyed the settings and the scenery.
It’s a few years into the future. Robots do all the work now. It’s illegal to have a robot that looks exactly like you do things as you, but that’s what terrible humans Elaine (Shailene Woodley) and Charles (Jack Whitehall) have. They are terrible humans, terrible.
Elaine uses her robot to have sex with all the sugar daddies she fleeces for every penny she can get. Charles uses his to date pretty women until they are ready to have sex with him. Then he steps in for the sex.

The two robots accidentally meet and fall in love. They want to get married and have electrifying sex. Charles and Elaine want to switch off their robots and destroy them before they get sent to jail forever for having doubles.
The humans Charles and Elaine can’t stand each other. However, they hide out together and work to get rid of their mutual problem. It isn’t easy. When robots go rogue, they turn out to be really clever and capable. Humans, on the other hand, are barely capable of anything.
This crazy plot did give Shailene Woodley and Jack Whitehall some fun acting opportunities. Shailene Woodley actually played two different robots so she had even more chances to demonstrate her thespian abilities.
If you feel like something silly that pokes fun at almost everything, you can see this one on Hulu. If you watch it, let me know what you thought of it.
It had its moments, but Jack Whitehall’s man-baby act got tired real fast, and the predictable ending was… Well too predictable.
Totally agree
