The Lost Girl finale, “Rise,” staged the final battle between good and evil (for now . . . ) and gave fans a smile-inducing happy ending for the series. The image above, with Bo (Anna Silk) right on the line between the darkness and the light sums it all up nicely.
So I guess I don’t need to write the recap. Oh, wait, you want details.
The “Family Portrait” episode (season 5, episode 13) of Lost Girl is all about getting to the truth of Bo’s (Anna Silk) blood-related family and her reliance on her chosen family of friends. Inga Cadranel is back as mama succubus Aife; she’s all over this episode and gives an incredible performance.
In “Judgement Fae,” episode 12 of season 5 of Lost Girl, we get another of those episodes where things happen by magic, you never know who someone really is, the actors get to act like other characters because their bodies have been overtaken by some Ancient or other, and nothing is what it seems.
Lost Girl episode 11 of season 5 is “Sweet Valkyrie High.” As you might guess from the title, this episode is Tamsin (Rachel Skarsten) all the way. Also back after a very long hiatus is Evony (Emmanuelle Vaugier) in all her human weakness.
Lost Girl charges ahead with episode 10, “Like Father, Like Daughter.” Kenzi is BACK! But only for this episode. A whole lot of things happen with no explanation and we don’t get any details about why. In short, things are pretty normal on Lost Girl.
This episode of Lost Girl is called “44 Minutes to Save the World” and it’s a treat from start to finish.
Spoilers ahead. Recap ahead.
Episode 8 has just ended. We’re back with Bo, (Anna Silk) on the floor of the clubhouse, cranking the handle of the magic adamantine box. After the big flash of light, the innards of the box quickly turn black. Bo looks for Hades (Eric Roberts), but he isn’t around. Continue reading “Lost Girl S5 E9: 44 Minutes to Save the World”
Lost Girl starts again on Canadian TV on Sept. 6, so we are getting teasers now. Here’s the latest one.
The first preview contained some stuff from earlier episodes of the show that we’d already seen. This one is all new scenes.
We know Lost Girl would be nothing without Anna Silk. Here she’s her usual heroic leader and also involved in some sort of long distance chi swap with Zoie Palmer’s Lauren.
Tamsin survived the lightning strike from Zee (Amanda Walsh) so Rachel Skarsten is still around looking healthy. I’m happy indeed to see Ksenia Solo back with the gang, fighting fires and doing all the other gang adventures. Kris Holden-Ried as Dyson is still there leading the fight, trailed by son Mark (Luke Bilyk) and the daddy from hell (Eric Roberts). We get a glimpse of Trick (Rick Howland) in this preview but no hints about where Vex (Paul Amos) or Evony (Emmanuelle Vaugier) might be.
Every time Anna Silk is interviewed about the end of the series, she comments that they finished “really strong” and in a good place for everyone, so I have high hopes for how it will all turn out.
Showcase released a promo called “The End Begins” for the last half of Lost Girl season 5. The show begins on Canadian TV on September 6. It probably won’t show up on SyFy in the US for some time after that.
What can we learn from the promo? We know Bo is as kick ass as ever. In shades.
We do know that Bo isn’t through with her father just yet.
We do know our favorite sidekick will return, at least for a bit.
Some of the promo is recycled from the beginning of season 5, so no news there. I think the reference to happy endings is meant to mislead us. What do you see in this promo that I’m missing?
