Review: Ratched, season 1
Ratched uses mind-altering saturated color and gorgeous visuals to tell the lunatic story of the murder and mayhem that created the horrifying nurse Mildred Ratched, played here by Sarah Paulson.

The Politician, season 2, returned to Netflix with the same ambitious politician engaged in a run for office, much like season 1. All the back-stabbing, conniving, bald-faced lying that we saw in season 1 returned as well.
Hollywood is about rewriting the story of Hollywood by going back 80 years and re-imagining everything. Set in the 1940s, the series creates a new history for Hollywood that includes people of color, out gay men, and women bosses.
The Politician, the latest production from Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy, is equal parts brilliant and scattered. It’s pretentiously adult but set in a high school. Thematically it jumps around from one idea to another and never quite lands. Ryan Murphy regulars abound. Yet overall, it’s wonderful.
9-1-1 is an excellent new show from Fox. It’s about 9-1-1 operators, paramedics, firefighters, and police officers who deal with life-threatening situations. I’ve thought about why I like it so much and decided a list is in order.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed two big news flashes about Ryan Murphy’s latest project Pose, which will air on FX, if it goes to series. I hope many, many people will watch for the pilot season on FX and punch in some high view numbers for Pose. Let’s make it happen!
