Watch This: Fall TV Shows Starring Women

Ruby Rose in Batwoman

The fall TV season starts very soon. Will there be many good new women-led shows this season? Well, I can think of three. If you have more in mind, speak up in the comments.

Stumptown

With Cobie Smulders in the lead and names like Camryn Manheim and Tantoo Cardinal not far behind hers in the cast list, I’m ready to go with Stumptown. Fingers crossed it’s good!

The series begins September 25 on ABC.

Batwoman

Ruby Rose dons the red wig as Batwoman and joins the very small group of female superheroes out there saving the world week after week. Rachel Skarsten plays the villain – could you ever write a sentence more perfect than that? Elizabeth Anweis is also featured.

Series premier is October 6 on The CW.

The L Word: Generation Q

Old favorites Jennifer Beals, Leisha Hailey and Katherine Moennig will return to help you meet a whole new crop of ladies. Some of the young ‘uns include Arienne Mandi, Jacqueline Toboni, Rosanny Zayas and Sepideh Moafi.

The L Word: Generation Q starts in December on Showtime.

Speaking of The L Word alums, Jennifer Beals announced that she and Ilene Chaiken are teaming up for a new series on Freeform based on The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. That one is just now in development, so we won’t see it this fall, but I’m definitely looking forward to it.

Any other fall TV shows starring women that I missed? Speak up in the comments.
