The unlikely group of underdogs in the Barden Bellas a capella singing group are at it again with Pitch Perfect 3.
Returning regulars such as Anna Kendrick, Elizabeth Banks, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Hailee Steinfeld, and Rebel Wilson will keep us grounded in the Pitch Perfect universe. Newcomers such as Ruby Rose, and John Lithgow are around to spice things up.
The plot synopsis for Pitch Perfect 3 is, “Following their win at the world championship, the now separated Bellas reunite for one last singing competition at an overseas USO tour, but face a group who uses both instruments and voices.”
All the original flaws come forward with the Barden Bellas. For example, Rebel Wilson is still making fat jokes.
Pitch Perfect 3 will be in theaters in December. Just in time to be your Christmas musical.
Trish Sie is the director of Pitch Perfect 3. Kay Cannon, the writer of versions 1 and 2 of this singing group’s travails, returns to write the final episode. (The poster for the film says “Last Call Pitches” which is interpreted to mean this is the last of the series.)
I’ve always enjoyed these singing underdogs and look forward to the latest escapades from them. Are you a fan?
