Finding You is a romance with some substance. I hesitate to call it a romcom because it doesn’t quite fit the genre, but it’s definitely a love story. It was filmed in Ireland and takes its time showing you the sights, which is a treat. It’s available on Prime Video.
La La Land opens with a reference to Cinemascope and closes with a reference to Panavision. Everything in between is a love story to the musicals of the past filmed in Cinemascope and Panavision.
Shirley MacLaine and Amanda Seyfried star in The Last Word. It’s a part Shirley MacLaine has played several times before – the curmudgeonly control freak that no one can stand. But the foil for her excesses in the past has always been some hapless young man. Now she’s up against Amanda Seyfried. It should make things pop.
