The Decameron review, silly uninteresting people stuck in a villa
In the Decameron by Boccaccio, ten people flee Florence during the Black Plague. They hide out in the countryside and amuse themselves by telling 100 stories during the long nights. In this TV version of the story, we don’t get much storytelling but plenty of exploration of characters.

Quiz Lady, serious AND slapstick
Quiz Lady is parts broad, slapstick physical comedy and parts heartfelt sister relationship and bonding. Part of the comedy, even before the story starts, is that Sandra Oh and Awkwafina play against type. Sandra Oh is the outrageous, undisciplined one. Awkwafina is the anxious, serious one who knows trivia about everything.

Review: American Ultra
American Ultra stars Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg as a couple of CIA agents who were part of an experimental program run by a character played by Connie Britton. The actors were interesting enough that I gave it a try. I’m a little chagrined to admit how much I enjoyed it.
