The First, a Hulu original series, was advertised and promoted as a heroic space adventure in the style of The Right Stuff. Astronauts in space suits and talk about a mission to Mars were in the posters and teasers. That isn’t what this story is about. The marketing is misleading.

Time for a brain dump: scattered thoughts about random TV shows. These things made an impression lately. I was bored by high fashion, impressed by a gritty look at American policing, and sad to see an old favorite say goodbye.

Must Watch Show: Switched at Birth Renewed for a 3rd Season
Switched at Birth on ABC Family is a terrific series. The announcement came this week that it’s renewed for a 3rd season. I originally watched because I’m a Marlee Matlin fan and like shows that feature sign language, but I quickly got caught up in the story and interested in the characters.
