Little Fish is a science fiction story of love and loss in a pandemic. The film was finished before the COVID 19 pandemic began, and the timing was an accident. Godless is a 7 part mini-series Western from Netflix. It’s a sweeping tale of evil power vs. good. The story features misshapen religion and disastrous interference from the press. There are love stories, family stories, and stories about fathers and sons. It takes place in the 1880s. Beware the spoilers.Continue reading “Review: Godless”
I started watching Godless last night. I only watched the first episode, “An Incident at Creede.” I intend to keep watching, but I had a few bothersome thoughts about this episode I want to mention. After I finish the season I’ll have more to say. I hope by then I will be less picky and more pleased. Continue reading “Thoughts on Godless episode 1 “An Incident at Creede””

Unbroken is not the type of story I normally talk about here. My mission is to promote female driven entertainment. However, I have three most excellent reasons for being eager to see Unbroken.
- I read the book Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption. It was thrilling and inspirational and edge of your seat exciting.
- It’s a true story about an amazing, admirable man.
- It’s directed by Angelina Jolie.
The film stars Jack O’Connell, Domhnall Gleeson and Garrett Hedlund in the story of Louis Zamperini. Louis Zamperini was an Olympic runner who served in the Air Force in World War II. He ended up in a Japanese prisoner of war camp. His endurance under horrifying conditions, and his ultimate survival are both testaments to the human spirit.
This is a new trailer for Unbroken.
There is another trailer for the film, which was released during the Olympics. Louis Zamperini himself can be seen in that trailer. He died in July of 2014 at the age of 97 and never got to see the film.
Unbroken is scheduled to release on Christmas day. If you like to get out to a movie on Christmas Day, there are many tempting choices. (Two I’ve already mentioned are Big Eyes and Annie.) Unbroken will make you believe in the power of never giving up.
