Review: Vigil with Suranne Jones
Vigil, a thriller with Suranne Jones in the lead, earned such enthusiastic comments on my Twitter timeline when it aired in the UK. I was eager to see it. It was good, but not great. I was a bit disappointed with that. I’m never entirely unhappy with anything Suranne Jones does, and I did engage…

Review: Don’t Look Up. Wait, do look up!
Don’t Look Up is a laugh-out-loud satire about real events that haven’t happened yet. It’s true but painfully so. It paints a portrait of a society gone mad and a world hurtling toward doom. In other words, it’s us right now.

Review: Finding You, and Ireland isn’t so bad either
Finding You is a romance with some substance. I hesitate to call it a romcom because it doesn’t quite fit the genre, but it’s definitely a love story. It was filmed in Ireland and takes its time showing you the sights, which is a treat. It’s available on Prime Video.

Review: With Love, let’s hit all the holidays

Review: Anna and the Apocalypse, which is bonkers
Anna and the Apocalypse, a 2017 Christmas movie you can see again on Prime Video, is a zombie musical comedy. It’s a nutso mashup of styles. It’s funny, it’s gory, and it’s not a Hollywood ending.
