Picture This stars Simone Ashley as an aspiring photographer. She’s a part of the Indian community living in London. The film is steeped in comedy with a romance thrown into the mix for good measure.
Picture This goes full cultural with a traditional Indian wedding and some Bollywood style dance numbers. It’s fun and gorgeous. Simone Ashley as Pia proves adept at physical comedy.

Pia has a failing photography business. Her gay best friend Jay (Luke Fetherston) works for her, although he hasn’t been paid in a while. Her mother Laxmi (Sindhu Vee) is on her case because she’s nearing 30 and isn’t married.
Pia’s younger sister, Sonal (Anoushka Chadha), is getting married. The astrologer she hired for the wedding preparations tells Pia that she will meet her soulmate on one of her next five dates. She goes on a couple of funny and disastrous dates, but confides in her friend Jay that the only true love she’s ever felt was for her high school beau Charlie (Hero Fiennes Tiffin).

So, of course, Charlie reappears in her life as the best man at Sonal’s wedding. I’m sure you will figure out what is going to happen, but it’s always the getting there that is fun in a romcom.
More interesting than the romcom part of the story was the way Pia’s business was saved and took off. It gave a totally modern turn to the story with that plot twist. The subplots involving wedding preparations and the various people on Pia’s blind dates brought more comedy to the story.
Picture This is based on Australian film Five Blind Dates, which I have not seen, but sounds very similar. This film was directed by a woman, Prarthana Mohan. It is streaming on Prime Video. Overall the film is a lighthearted bit of cheer and fun.
