Silo, season 2, operates in two locations most of the season. The silo where the story began, and the silo Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) finds when she goes outside to clean. This resolves the question at the end of season 1 – does Juliette survive – and introduces a new set of characters.
As Juliette leaves her home silo, she walks over the hill and finds thousands of bodies. She walks through and on them, crushing bones as she goes, to reach the silo they all ran from. She goes inside.
The place seems deserted, but she soon realizes someone is alive in IT. She had to improvise a bridge to get to it. She finds Solo (Steve Zahn) in there, afraid to come out. He has food and all the knowledge from the before times at his disposal.
Through the remainder of the season, Juliette is working to find a way to go back to her home silo and stop the rebellion which would surely kill everyone, just the way the rebellion in the new silo she found did. Going outside is not what it appears to be.
Shirley (Remmie Milner) and Knox (Shane McRae) from mechanical are among those who want a rebellion and to open up the outside doors. Everyone in the silo is screaming for the truth about what’s outside. They don’t believe stories told by the authorities in charge. They want to know what Juliette saw when she walked over that hill, farther than anyone had gone before, thanks to some quality tape sealing up her suit.
While Bernard (Tim Robbins) is still in charge, Robert Sims (Common) and his wife Camille (Alexandria Riley) are making power moves. The new sheriff, Paul Billings (Chinaza Uche), is proving hard to control. Walker (Harriet Walter) actually leaves her workshop in an effort to save her ex-wife (Clare Perkins). And the super smart guy from the down deep, Lukas Kyle (Avi Nash), figures out everything – but not until the last minute.
Juliette is in for a lot of surprises where she is. Solo has answers but insists on her help with things before he’ll help her get back home. She MacGyvers her way through many challenges. It adds up to suspense, excitement and danger.
This series looks so good with amazing sets creating a realistic world set hundreds of years in the future. All the actors are top notch, especially Rebecca Ferguson and Steve Zahn. There will be two more seasons of Silo. Season 2 ends with a couple of cliffhangers as well as a jaw dropping surprise ending.
This series, based on books by Hugh Howey, is always engaging and rich with human drama and characters. Amber Templemore directed several of the episodes in season 2. It’s all uploaded and streaming on Apple TV+. Silo is one of the most interesting sci-fi stories I’ve seen. If you’re a fan, I’d love to know what you thought about season 2.

I was a fan but after watching Season 2, I am getting bored and fed up. Silo has become a shaggy dog story. I’m not the first person who has noticed that these streaming services shows take forever to tell a story. Some cynics have suggested that it’s how they keep you subscribing.
I don’t watch things if I don’t like them. Saves time and emotional energy.
