Review: The Children Act
The Children Act tackles topics like religion vs. the state, freedom of choice, and holding on. It’s serious stuff. The brilliant Emma Thompson makes it worth watching as she plays a judge in the midst of two crises.

The Wife with Glenn Close and Jonathan Pryce will be released in August. The Children Act, also in theaters in August, stars Emma Thompson and Stanley Tucci in a legal drama. I’m combining these two teasers into a single post because of the fact that they are both movies for grown ups and feature outstanding women 40+ in the lead.
On Chesil Beach hits theaters May 18. It stars Saoirse Ronan and Billy Howle as young newlyweds in a still to be sexually liberated time in the early 1960s.
