I’ve been cogitating on the trailers to Nocturnal Animals for a few days. I can’t decide if this new film starring Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal sounds like the best thing ever or something I don’t want to see.
The trailers are stitched together in such a fast paced jumble, even though there are moments of frightening stillness. It has a great cast, which is hopeful. Yet, I can’t make out my reaction.
The film, directed by Tom Ford, offers this synopsis: “An art gallery owner is haunted by her ex-husband’s novel, a violent thriller she interprets as a veiled threat and a symbolic revenge tale.”
It’s so seldom I watch a trailer and don’t immediately know whether I want to see the film. What’s your interpretation of these two trailers? Yea or nay?
