Incorporated Heads for SyFy

Sean Teale and Georgina Haig

The SyFy channel ordered a pilot for Incorporated, which sounds a bit like the main theme in Continuum. But Incorporated is from Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s Pearl Street Productions. Big names, indeed. It’s a dystopian story about a future 2062. This is a world in which companies have unlimited power, climate change has destroyed the planet, and most people are living lives of desperation while the very rich thrive happily in the “Green Zone.”

The show isn’t even in production yet and may not get any further than the pilot, but I know many readers here are SyFy watchers, so it’s worth mentioning.

The show was created by David and Alex Pastor. The lead character is a man, Ben Larson, played by Sean Teale. He’s a young executive who risks everything to infiltrate an all-controlling corporate world and save his wife Laura, played by Georgina Haig. Laura is a plastic surgeon. Julia Ormand will play Laura’s mom, who is a top executive herself. Eddie Ramos plays Theo, a resident of the poverty-stricken “Red Zone.”

Deadline reported this, “Incorporated provides us distinct insight into a world dictated by our decisions today,” Damon and Affleck said in a statement when Syfy ordered the pilot in May. “Viewers will delve into the intricacies of our future — one that we are constantly warned of but as a society have not yet explored.”

I’ll be watching for news of this show and will keep you informed.
