Black Panther will be in theaters on February 15. This Marvel superhero flick has a fantastic cast.
Chadwick Boseman stars as the Black Panther, T’Challa. After the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, T’Challa returns home to his technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king.
Stars in Black Panther include Michael B. Jordan as Erik, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, and Angela Bassett as Ramonda. Others you’ll see include Martin Freeman, Andy Serkis, Forest Whitaker, Letitia Wright, and Sterling K. Brown.
I’m not so excited about the Black Panther himself, but he sure has some fantastic women warriors behind him. That has my attention. Lupita Nyong’o looks like she’s become the master of fighting with a stick.
Here’s the synopsis, placing this film in its place in the Marvel universe: “After the events of Captain America: Civil War, King T’Challa returns home to the reclusive, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to serve as his country’s new leader. However, T’Challa soon finds that he is challenged for the throne from factions within his own country. When two foes conspire to destroy Wakanda, the hero known as Black Panther must team up with C.I.A. agent Everett K. Ross and members of the Dora Milaje, Wakanadan special forces, to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war.”
This trailer is a couple of trailers stuck together, so there’s some repetition, but it gives a look at more than just the action scenes. Many trailers do not.
Adding an update to this post with a tweet showing the women of Wakanda featured in a poster.
