All We Had hasn’t earned much hype, if any. But it’s a story about a mother and daughter relationship from a first time woman director – Katie Holmes – and merits at least a mention somewhere. This is that somewhere.
Katie Holmes stars in and directs this film about a woman struggling to make a better life for her daughter (Stefania Owen). It’s set in the economic crisis of 2008 and deals with poverty and addiction.
Luke Wilson, Richard Kind, Mark Consuelos, Judy Greer and Eve Lindley also star. Eve Lindley plays the transgender character Peter Pam, who befriends Rita (Holmes). I’m interested in seeing how the transgender character is handled in this film.
All We Had will be in theaters December 9. If you see it in the theater, let me know what you thought of the film.
