Watch This: Trailer for Dear White People Vol. 2

Dear White People poster

The film Dear White People was good. The TV series Dear White People season 1 was good. Now comes “Volume 2” of Dear White People to Netflix on May 4. It promises to be good!

The story is set in a predominantly white Ivy League university. Racial issues are everywhere there, but sometimes ignored. With satire, irony, and honesty, this series looks at issues facing society at large and the fictional Winchester University in particular. Students grapple with relationship drama and identity crises, in addition to racial tensions.

Justin Simien is the writer and director behind Dear White People. Stars include Logan Browning, Brandon P. Bell, Antoinette Robertson. DeRon Horton, John Patrick Amedori, Ashley Blaine Featherson and Marque Richardson.

Logan Browning as Sam has a radio show where she tells it like it is to the dear white people who are listening. My review of season 1 tells you much more about all the characters in the series. There’s a least one pretty special guest star in the new season – you’ll catch a glimpse of her in the trailer.

The series doesn’t have many women directors, but in Volume 2 there will be episodes directed by Salli Richardson-Whitfield and Janicza Bravo.

I’m a fan of Dear White People as both a movie and a TV series. I’ll be watching the new season. Are you a fan, too?
