Jennifer Beals joins the cast of The Night Shift for season 3. This ER centered drama has never been on my radar before, but I’ll take a look because of Jennifer Beals. The previews in the trailer look good, and jumping into season 3 shouldn’t be a problem.
The action mostly takes place in a San Antonio medical center, but Jennifer Beals as Dr. Syd Jennings will first be introduced as a major in the army working alongside Brendan Fehr’s Dr. Drew Alister on a six-month tour in Afghanistan. After playing a doctor in Proof, the lingo should be familiar to Jennifer Beals.
I hesitate to say who will be in the cast, since people who were in the first two seasons may have cycled off the show. The synopsis for the first episode of season 3 is, “T.C. and Topher return to find Jordan in critical condition and San Antonio terrorized by snipers.”
That synopsis guarantees that at least Eoin Macken as Dr. TC Callahan, Ken Leung as Dr. Topher Zia, and Jill Flint as Dr. Jordan Alexander should be there. If you’ve watched this show, I’m sure the faces in the preview will be familiar. Are you a fan? What do you think of the show?
The 3rd season of begins on NBC on June 1.

I love Jennifer Beals as well. I see almost all of her work, if I can. This sounds interesting!
