Keeping Faith season 2 continues to be densely written with a lot going on in a short time. It threatens to overwhelm the heroine Faith Howells (Eve Myles). Too much, too fast, and all of it serious. There’s a powerful sense of desperation in this suspenseful tale.

Hinterland (Y Gwyll in Welsh) season 3 sees Tom Mathias (Richard Harrington) come under suspicion of murder himself. The story takes us back to unraveling crimes that were first investigated in season 1. There are spoilers ahead, beware.

Review: Hinterland Season 2
Much of what I said about Hinterland in my review of season 1 remains true of season 2. Except in season 2, I desperately wanted to grab DCI Tom Mathias (Richard Harrington) by the collar and give him a good shake while shouting, “Get over your damn self!” in his face.

Hinterland is available on US Netflix. There are 4 episodes in Season 1, each an hour and a half long. Each episode is actually a full movie. The plots and stories are as complicated as you might expect in a police procedural mystery of that length. This review is of season 1 only.
