The British series Happy Valley has been an outstanding triumph of great writing and brilliant acting. It returned after a long wait of almost 8 years for its 3rd and final season. It was worth the wait. There are spoilers ahead in this discussion.
To Walk Invisible: The Brontë Sisters is a look into the Brontë family life during the time when the three Brontë sisters – Charlotte, Emily and Anne – began publishing their writing. It was also the time when their brother Branwell’s drinking and profligate ways brought disaster to their home life.
Happy Valley S2 E6 resolves all the crime stories in this series, but it leaves us with Catherine Cawood (Sarah Lancashire) in emotional tatters. This brief review will have spoilers. I’ve tried to keep the spoilers to a minimum, but my American readers will find the series on Netflix starting March 16, so the need to avoid spoilers is lessened.
